Pups whelped at Heatherdowns Labradors are guaranteed to be purebred, from Grand Champion and Champion Bloodlines, OFA Certified Parents, DNA Clearances Normal (through Pawprint Genetics), Registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC); and that the pedigree is accurate.
The seller guarantees the dog to be of sound health and temperament at the time of release.
It is impossible to state that any given dog will be completely free of genetic imperfection. In our breeding program, we only breed to animals that have completed genetic testing and certified with an OFA breeding rating of EXCELLENT, GOOD or FAIR. We research the background of the Sires and Dams, and any litters they may have produced. Only when we are satisfied that these animals are sound, do we breed. We believe adhering to these high standards we are reducing the odds of producing a defective pup or litter. Therefore, we offer this guarantee providing the purchaser complies with the agreement. There will be no exceptions
The purchaser agrees to take this dog to a licensed veterinarian of his choice within 72 hours for a physical examination. Should the dog be determined to be in ill health, the cause of which is clearly attributable to the seller, the dog may, upon written diagnosis from said veterinarian, be returned for refund of the purchase price or for another dog of equal value. Any veterinarian's diagnosis shall be subject to confirmation by a veterinarian chosen and paid for by the seller. Should said veterinarian not concur with the diagnosis, the matter shall be presented to a third veterinarian mutually agreed upon by the seller and the purchaser.
Heatherdowns Labradors practices prevention, and if needed, treatment of parasites, worms, coccidia, and giardia which are common problems in young puppies. These conditions can be treated and are excluded from this guarantee.
*Unconditional Guarantee: You may return the pup in the same condition when acquired. Puppy may be returned for any reason, within THREE days from the final purchase and the price of puppy will be refunded with the exception of the initial deposit.
*Congenital Disease Guarantee: If a fatal congenital disease is discovered within 1 year of purchase [breeder reserves the right to have the animal examined by a vet of choice at breeder’s expense to confirm the diagnosis.] full purchase price will be refunded or 1st Pick of a replacement pup from your choice litter will be granted upon proof of diagnosis. You agree to provide regular veterinary care as well as the proper daily maintenance to keep the dog in good health. You agree to inform me at once if problems develop and to follow all veterinary recommendations for their solution. If these things are not done, all guarantees are void.
Congenital disorders that are treatable, or may not require therapy/medications and will live a normal life without affecting the dogs quality life, will not be refunded.
This guarantee does not apply to any disorder or situation that is non-genetic to include umbilical cord hernias, entropian, non-descended testicles, large vulva hood, overbites, or microchips that have traveled.
Heatherdowns Labradors completes genetic testing for EIC, CNM, PRA-PRCD, Stargardt, Cystinuria, Copper Toxicosis, Dilute Gene, Hips, Elbows, Patella, Dentition and Cardiac.
*Hips, Eyes, and Elbows 30 month Guarantee: If your dog receives a grade of moderate or severe hip Dysplasia, digital x-rays will be accepted to submit to OFA for evaluation. Reasonable precautions have been taken to prevent this puppy from acquiring hereditary defects of the hips, elbows, and eyes based on completing required AKC certifications through OFA and genetic testing to include hips, elbows, eyes, heart and dentition.
Heatherdowns Labradors will not reimburse or pay for any Veterinary fees or expenses upon transfer of ownership.
