At Heatherdowns Labradors, raising exceptional puppies begins with carefully selected parents. Our Labradors are chosen for health, temperament, genetics, OFA certifications, and Champion/Grand Champion pedigrees, including quality international bloodlines.
But great puppies are about more than genetics. Those first eight weeks matter!
Our puppies are raised in a clean, carefully managed environment with plenty of love, individual attention, handling, and age-appropriate socialization.
As they grow, puppies are introduced to different sounds, sights, surfaces, textures, toys, people, and indoor and outdoor environments. They explore grass, stone, concrete, tile, pinecones, flowers, and other everyday surroundings.
We also introduce gentle startle-and-recovery exercises, enrichment activities, daily routines, crate training, appropriate play, and nipping and teething guidance to help build confidence and prepare puppies for their new homes.
Our goal is simple: to raise Labradors who are healthy, happy, confident, affectionate, and well prepared to become wonderful family companions.
